Matt

Cline

Matt joined Gideon, Cooper, and Essary in 2012 after graduating from Vanderbilt University School of Law. Matt is a native Tennessean, born and raised just south of Knoxville, Tennessee. Matt's practice focuses primarily on defending physicians and health care facilities in medical malpractice suits. Matt has a special passion for fighting to preserve physicians' personal and professional reputations, since both parents and his brother are medical doctors.

Thus far in Matt's career, his practice has concentrated on representation of physicians and health care facilities in matters related to compounding pharmacies, a newly-developing area of the law. His experience in this field covers the spectrum from initial investigation and responding to media inquiries all the way through complex multi-district litigation involving hundreds of lawsuits from across the country.

In his spare time, Matt is an avid sportsman. He enjoys playing team sports in Nashville's rec league, golfing, and hunting with his two chocolate labs.
